Wednesday – Saturday, 10:30am – 3:30pm
Sunday: 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Docent-led tours are available during these hours that include architectural details & stories of the county’s early law enforcement days.

  • Built in 1885
  • The Snead & Company Ironworks of Kentucky was the iron & steel contractor at the 1887 Gonzales County Jail.
  • During the 1905 renovation of the Gonzales County Jail, the Southern Steel Company of San Antonio was hired to upgrade the steel doors and cell blocks using new welding techniques.
